August Favorites | 2016

I can’t believe it’s September already! August was a great month. I have fragrance, hair care, skincare and even jewelry. First up is Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment (3.4oz/$44.00) this is a Holy Grail hair product for me; I’ve been using it for years. It’s an oil treatment that absorbs into the hair cuticle to make it smooth while helping prevent breakage and heat damage. It conditions and tames my hair without weighing it down. I find the large bottle lasts a long time because you only need a small amount; one pump gets the job done for me. Moroccan Oil can be pricey depending on where you purchase so if you’re looking for a good alternative try the Garnier Sleek and Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment, which is around six dollars and works great.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads (28 pads/$15.00) I discovered this through my favorite YouTuber Karima McKimmie. We both have dry, thin sensitive skin. I was looking for an exfoliate that was gentle enough to use daily but strong enough to decongest my skin especially during that time of the month. It contains lactic and glycolic acids to help smooth out texture and tones and brightens the skin. I like to use them on my décolletage area as well. I always have great results with these pads, highly recommend them.

I’ve loved two fragrances this month. Actually, these are an overall summer favorite for me. First, the Guerlain ‘Terracotta Le Parfum’ Fragrance (3.3oz/$79.00) the notes are Bergamot, Coconut, Tiare flower, Ylang-Ylang, and Vanilla. This is the perfume I wore the most this summer. Many people compare it to Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess. Both are lovely and there are some similarities but I prefer Terracotta. It’s much more complex, deep and sexy.

My second favorite is Tom Ford Fleur de Portofino (1.7oz/$225.00) this launched last year and it’s a beautiful scent; it reminds me of walking in a garden in Capri or Portofino. I especially love wearing this in the spring. I won’t list all the notes because this post will turn into a dissertation but it includes Sicilian Lemon, Tangerine, Orange Blossom, Moroccan Rose and Acacia Honey. I’m a lover of Tom Ford fragrances. They’re long lasting and distinctive.

A nail polish fave is a must; this month it’s OPI Do You Lilac It? (0.5oz/$10.00) and Nails Inc. St James (0.33 Oz/$14.00) I’ve had St James on my toes for most of the summer. It’s a gorgeous, bold true red. I really love it paired with OPI Do You Lilac It? This is probably one of my favorite nail color combinations. I love purple polishes, this one is an opaque light lavender.

Next is the Lancôme ‘Artliner’ Precision Point Eyeliner ($30.50) I always had a hard time with liquid liners. I still prefer the gel pot and brush for lining but this is a great product. I really love the brush, it’s sturdy and precise. It stays put all day in this heat in Miami. The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Honey (0.22oz/$29.00) is one of my most used concealers. To be honest I’m still on the hunt for the perfect concealer. I still haven’t found one that’s hydrating enough for under my eyes. I’ve pretty much tried them all including the La Mer Radiant Concealer SPF 25, which I didn’t like. It looked powdery and was drying so I quickly returned it. The NARS concealer is better and less expensive. It comes in many different shades and has great coverage. Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Sweet Violet (0.15oz/$6.99) I’m so loving this lip balm! It has Shea butter and botanical waxes to moisturize the lips while leaving a gorgeous plummy stain and for the price you just can’t go wrong.

And finally, I wanted to include a fashion favorite. This is a Turquoise and Gold Evil Eye Necklace ($21.00) from Maddy and Sam. I purchased it in Esty around springtime and I’ve been wearing it practically every day since. The chain is made of gold plated, 100% Sterling Silver. The eye detail is made of enamel-plated sterling silver. It’s so dainty and feminine; I’ve gotten so many compliments. It’s similar to an evil eye necklace Kendall Jenner was wearing a while back. If you’re like me and love evil eye jewelry check them out. I’m not sponsored or affiliated with them in any way; just wanted to share the love.
