Best of Beauty 2016 Grab your coffee or tea

It’s time for my 2016 Beauty Favorites! These are all the products that stood out to me and I’ve used the most this year. Let’s do this!

Foundation and Concealer

My everyday foundation for 2016 goes to the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream. This has amazing coverage but it’s skin like and breathable. It also has skincare benefits like vitamins A, C, B, E, hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen and anti-oxidants. It’s definitely one of my favorite discoveries of the year. Another favorite is the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. This has the most beautiful finish ever. It’s great for blemishes, it’s brightening and dewy and it never looks dry or patchy. It’s the only one I use for evenings and special occasions. Luminous Silk will always be in my collection.

My go-to concealer for 2016 is MAC Studio Finish Concealer Duo. This little palette is a life saver. It has a salmon shade for the under eye area and a yellow neutral shade to conceal. It’s not cakey or drying, I take it with me everywhere.

Blush

Nars Deep Throat is still the winner for me. This gorgeous peachy pink blush can be paired with any look and would flatter any skin tone. It’s the most beautiful blush I’ve ever used.

Powder

Rimmel Stay Matte is the definitely the powder I reach for the most. It’s easy, effective and inexpensive.

Bronzer and Highlighter

Easy peasy, the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow. The texture is velvety soft and it gives the most beautiful glow. I like to use it as eyeshadow too, it’s versatile and it will last forever. The Filmstar Bronze and Glow is worth every penny. It’s good skin in beautiful rose gold packaging.

Eyeliner

MAC Eye Pencil in Coffee has been my holy grail eyeliner for years. I use this pencil almost daily. The color is a deep, dark brown. It’s pigmented without being too intense like a black. I love MAC eyeliners and Coffee is an excellent everyday eyeliner, it doesn’t slide or smudge and it lasts all day.

Eyeshadow

This was tough because I love eye shadow. I’m going with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. These are one of the most pigmented eye shadows I’ve ever used. The formulation is incredible, I can get an opaque finish even when using a light hand and they’re so buttery soft. The colors are gorgeous and you can create both dramatic and natural looks. I can’t rave about it enough.

My favorites shades from left to right: Venetian Red, Buon Fresco, Cyprus Umber, Realgar, Primavera

Brows

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz is one the best brow products I’ve ever used. I reach for this the most because it’s so easy to use. It’s pretty much foolproof. The result is natural looking brows and it lasts all day.

Mascara

The Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes is my top mascara pick. This lengthens, separates and adds volume. It’s clump free and defines my lashes giving them a beautiful cat affect. Bold lashes guaranteed, I can’t be without it.

Lips

My favorite lip product for 2016 hands down is the Nars Audacious Lipstick in Barbara. This is my third tube and that says a lot. I have so many lips products it’s rare for me to finish an entire tube. This is the lipstick I wore the most this year. Barbara is a tan rose but it pulls mauve on my skin tone. It’s hard to find the perfect nude lipstick, this one just works. It’s creamy and comfortable on the lips. I really enjoy the Nars Audacious lipsticks, they’re long-wearing and hydrating.

Brush

The Real Techniques Contour Brush is the best multi-purpose brush, it’s excellent. This is meant to be used for contouring as the name suggests but I use it for pretty much everything else. I use it for foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer and highlighter. It’s the perfect density and not too stiff. I love it!

Fragrance

Tom Ford Noir pour Femme

This was difficult because I’m a sucker for perfume but it’s Tom Ford Noir pour Femme. Tom Ford knows fragrance. Noir is unique and sexy. The notes include bitter orange oil, ginger extract, rose absolute, Indian kulfi, and vanilla. It’s intense but sweet at the same time, it’s definitely my favorite fragrance of the year.

Best Beauty Launch of 2016

Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duos

My favorite beauty launch of the year goes to the Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duos. I’m so enamored with these blushes, I think the quality is phenomenal and they have a beautiful selection of shades. The texture is silky smooth and the finish is natural and glowy. Thank you, Marc Jacobs!

My final beauty favorite of 2016 is this blog. It’s officially five months since I started The Beautician’s Daughter and I intend to keep going. I’m so grateful to anyone that has taken the time to read my posts. Thank you so much!!

Happy New Year!
