I’m so excited to post my very first Monthly Favorites! First up is Essie Nail Polish in Fiji (0.47oz/$8.50) Fiji is the nail polish I always take with me on travel. The best way to describe it is that it’s elegant and goes with everything. Not that you have to match your nails to your outfit. But have you ever had a moment when you’re wearing an outfit and wish you had a different nail polish on? Well, that never happens with Essie Fiji, it just works. It’s the perfect pink polish. The application can be difficult but I honestly don’t care because I love it. The finish is opaque and gorgeous, it’s worth it.

Lush Baked Alaska Soap (100g/$7.50) I’m a big fan of Lush Products but I have to admit going to a Lush store can be overwhelming, the smell in the store is intense. The perkiness can be a bit much. I suddenly turn into Wednesday Adams but in all seriousness the products are awesome. This was a Christmas gift from a friend. For some reason, I didn’t start using it until a few months ago. This was a limited edition release for the holidays but I don’t get the connection. The Baked Alaska soap has a bright, citrusy scent very unlike the spicy scents we’re used to for the holidays. It’s a perfect fragrance for summer. It contains Organic Lemon Myrtle, Ylang Ylang Oil and Grapefruit, which is refreshing and toning for the skin.

MAC Lip Pencil in Subculture (0.05oz/$16.50) MAC describes this as Underground Pink; which I think is a fancy way of saying Pinky Nude. This is a gorgeous shade. I’ve been using it with a bit of lip balm and I’m out the door. It’s quick and easy. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black (0.07oz/$10.50) I rarely wear mascara on my bottom lashes especially in the summer but if I do I only use this. It’s long lasting and it’s not clumpy because the tiny wand dispenses the perfect amount of product. No more raccoon eyes.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Buenos Aires (0.27oz/$5.99) Love a good coral in the summertime and all year long. This color is gorgeous; I do wish it were a bit more hydrating. I have to prep my lips before use but I really like it. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour® Cream Skin Protectant (1.7oz/$22.00) Eight Hour Cream has been in my stash for years but I never understood why they call it a cream when it’s a gel consistency. A little goes a very long way with this product so it will last a lifetime and there are countless ways to use this. I mainly use it as a lip balm but it’s also amazing for softening cuticles.

MAC Eye Shadow in All That Glitters (0.04oz/$16.00) MAC describes this as Beige with gold pearl in a Veluxe Pearl finish. This is probably one of the shadows from MAC I’ve repurchased the most aside from Woodwinked. I don’t usually go for complex or heavy eye looks in the summer but I love eyeshadow so much it’s difficult to omit it completely from my routine. All That Glitters has a beautiful finish. It’s a great one-swipe shade; just add mascara and done.

My disappointing product of the month is MAC Strobe Cream (30ml/$10.00). I know many of you loves this, I wanted to love it too but sadly it didn’t work for me. The problem is it breaks me out when I use it. There must be an ingredient there that just clashes with my skin. I’m glad I purchased the travel size to test it out. The finish is lovely but it just doesn’t play nice with my skin.

I hope you enjoyed my July 2016 favorites! What are some of the products you’ve been loving?
