Beauty Highlights from the past year
It’s official! The Beautician’s Daughter is a year old. Beauty blogging is not easy. There’s been a lot of trial and error and a lot of me thinking, “Is there anyone reading this anyway?” If you have been reading, thank you so much! This is definitely a passion project for me and I hope you stick around for more. I have a cheeky giveaway at the end!
Today I have a beauty recap. These are the items that have stood out to me since starting my blog. They have been featured in a monthly favorites or in a review. And they are all products I can’t be without.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette. I wrote a review on this palette last year. The Modern Renaissance palette is a dream. The shades are exquisite, it’s the only palette I reach for lately.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Camellia. Thank you ttsandra, for introducing this beauty into my life. Becca makes outstanding blushes and this shade is my absolute favorite. You can go full on intense with this blush, or use a light hand for a sheer but healthy wash of color.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria. I featured this in my Top 5 Nude Lipsticks. This is still one of my go-to lipsticks, it’s the perfect everyday lip and goes with any makeup look.
Smith & Cult
I was introduced to Smith & Cult in the beginning of last year. I love their nail polishes, they have a great color selection. My favorite shades are Bitter Buddhist, Stockholm Syndrome, and Kings & Thieves.
Real Techniques makeup brushes have made a few appearances on my blog. They offer quality brushes at an affordable price. I’ve never been disappointed with Real Techniques brushes, their Buffing Brush is an absolute staple for me.
Veet Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler
For someone that has plucked and waxed her entire life, this little tool was a blessing. Yes, I shave my face. My Cuban mother would be horrified right about now, but it’s true. I discovered the Veet Beauty styler through Karima McKimmie, she did an amazing review on it – seriously go watch it!
Sadly, it’s not available in the US. I purchased mine via Amazon through an international vendor. It works like a dream and helps keep the pesky hairs between my eyebrows at bay. If you pick one up, I recommend that you test a small area first.
For my first ever giveaway, I wanted to curate a beauty care package of the things I love. Please note I purchased these items myself, I’m not sponsored. It’s just a way for me to say thanks and share the love!
One lucky winner will receive:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette
Veet Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler (Not available in the US, purchased from an international seller on Amazon.)

Smith & Cult Nail Polish in King & Thieves (I am not allowed to ship nail polish internationally, therefore it will be replaced with another item if someone outside of the US wins.)
