Keeping it minimal

April Favorites | 2018

Time for April favorites! I’ve kept it pretty simple this month. I’ve been using some old faves from my collection, and a lipgloss I can’t wait to tell you about! Overall, aside from using items from my Spring Edit, April was about minimal makeup. Let’s get started…

Why Armani? Why?

Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Foundation Bi-Phase Elixir

I’m hesitant to mention my first favorite. I am going to anyway just so there’s a slim chance someone from Armani Beauty reads this post and decides to bring this foundation back. Pretty please! I’m referring to the Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Foundation Bi-Phase Elixir. Yes, it’s a mouthful, the name can stay discontinued, but this foundation is amazing.

My favorite thing is the consistency; it has a thin, watery consistency. I love to bring this foundation out during the spring and summer months because it’s lightweight and let’s my skin breathe. It feels like I’m not wearing anything yet my skin looks better. The coverage is sheer like a tinted moisturizer, but you can build it up for more coverage. It gives such a fresh, healthy glow; it’s perfect for my dry skin.

Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in 344 Skin Deep

I’m loving the Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in 344 Skin Deep. The formula is so unique; it looks like gloss and feels like a lipstick. The finish is shiny and opaque; I find it’s rare to have both in a lipgloss. The color is stunning; the perfect mauve nude. It’s also comfortable, long wearing, and smells just like peppermint. It’s a winner!

Forgotten favorite

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Ethereal Light

This month’s throwback is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light. It’s been close to year since I hadn’t used it, the reason is simply I’m not big on powders. I currently have two in my collection (including this one) and have no interest in purchasing more. That said this is an excellent translucent finishing powder.

The texture feels light and silky. It doesn’t settle into fine lines and doesn’t look dry on the skin. I use it to set my undereye concealer because it brightens the area, and helps keep the longevity of my makeup. I’m happy it’s back on rotation.

Some skincare

Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich, MAC Coconut Fix+

So happy this is back in my life! Yes, I’m talking about the MAC Prep & Prime Fix+ in Coconut. MAC finally heard our plea and made this permanent. It’s no secret that I’m a lover of face mists. Personally, I don’t think they’re a waste of money. If you have a dry, dehydrated skin like myself, I say they’re a crucial part of any makeup routine.

I own several facial sprays, but MAC Fix+ is the best for maintaining the longevity of my makeup. It just makes my makeup look better. And it smells so good, I can see it’s going to be one of my summer staples!

Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich

Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich

I’m late on the Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich. I bought this back in February and have been using it constantly. I love that it’s very thick moisturizer. It contains ceramides and fatty acids and acts as a skin barrier and locks in the moisture.

My skin feels instantly smoother when I use it and the lavender scent is soothing. I really love mixing it in with my foundation. Will it replace my Clinique Moisture Surge Intense? No, never. However, it’s a nice hydrating day cream and definitely a favorite for the month.

Minimal Earrings

The & Other Stories Orb Front Back Earrings in Gold have been on my ears all month. I love the design; it’s simple, yet still has a unique edge about them. They look so cool on the ears. I love them so much I bought them in silver as well.

So those are my favorites, what have you been loving this month?
