In Bloom Indeed

Today I have a Spring beauty haul to share with you! I was recently contacted by Clarins, and they’ve kindly sent me a few of their makeup items to try. Clarins is a brand that I trust, I appreciate their philosophy on skincare, and I’m a big fan of their line. Oddly enough I haven’t tried much of their makeup, so I was excited to play with the products and see if they work for me. I’m happy to report I love them!

Fruity lips

Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 08 Plum

The Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 08 Plum (0.06 oz/$26.00). I plan to keep this baby in my bag all throughout spring and summer. I can’t say enough good things about the formula. Essentially it’s a 3-in-1 product because it moisturizes, plumps and provides shine. It’s ultra-hydrating and contains natural botanical extracts for a fuller pout.

The formula feels smooth and comfortable on the lips. And the shade adapts to your pH, so it looks different on everyone. I adore this plum color. I saw a recent tutorial by Lisa Eldridge where she created three types of Fruity Lip Looks, and I’ve been looking for the right product to recreate the look. I found it! The Instant Light Lip Balm will give you that same juicy popsicle stained lips. One swipe and done!

Clarins SOS Primer in 05 Lavender

SOS

Of all the items I was the most curious about the SOS Primer in 05 Lavender (1 oz/$39.00). It’s a color-correcting primer, and there are several in the line. There’s one for redness, one for dark spots, one to improve radiance, and more. I was sent the Lavender; luckily, it’s the one I would’ve picked for my skin concerns. I love that you can mix and match with their other primers to suit your own needs.

The Lavender brightens sallow skin. If I were to compare it to another primer, it would be the Becca First Light Priming Filter Face Primer. Like the Becca primer, it’s hydrating, brightening, and looks beautiful under foundation. And it smells amazing! Those of you that don’t like the smell of the Becca primer, this is a much better alternative.

The SOS primer has a thicker, creamy consistency, I rather prefer it for my dry skin. It provided a nice base for my foundation and helped it last longer. The product blends quickly and there’s no slippery, silicone residue left on my skin, and a little goes a very long way. A+

The Perfect Spring Palette

Clarins 4-Color Eyeshadow Palette in 07 Lovely Rose

I was excited when I saw the 4-Color Eyeshadow Palette in 07 Lovely Rose (0.2oz/$44.00). The shades are beautiful; they look like candy to me. I knew I could create some gorgeous springtime looks with this palette. The eyeshadows can be used wet or dry. The texture feels velvety soft, and they’re pigmented. I find the formula long-lasting, and I didn’t experience any fallout. The finish is quite lovely.

The palette comes with a guide to help you create looks. Personally, I would wear one color all over the lid or combine two at a time. The combinations are endless, and the shades are all so wearable. I’m impressed with the palette, and I will include it in my spring edit coming soon!
