Nail Polishes for Fall

Autumn Nail Polishes

Autumn is such a great time for beauty. I’m always excited to see the new polish collections for fall. I live for those deep crimson and jewel tone shades and while I live Miami where it’s blazing hot even in December, wearing these rich hues reminds me of falling leaves and chunky sweaters. Here are my top nail polish picks for this season.

Essie Angora Cardi. This is the obligatory autumnal shade everyone goes crazy for around this time. Angora Cardi is a dusty rose shade that goes on smooth and opaque in one coat. This color will flatter any skin tone. I enjoy pairing nail polishes to my outfit and this shade with skinny jeans, Chuck Taylors, and a black turtleneck sweater, I’m ready to take on the day.

Deborah Lippmann Bitches Brew. Cool name aside Bitches Brew is a gorgeous dark mulberry with shimmer. I never get bored of jewel tones. I don’t find them dated at all. In fact, the right jewel tone or metallic shade can elevate your look. This formula dries quickly and that’s always plus. Unfortunately, this polish might have been discontinued because it’s not on the Deborah Lippmann website. The good news is Zoya’s Blair is pretty much identical.

OPI Every month is Oktoberfest. I take this baby out every October. It’s a beautiful vampy color. However, it looks different in the bottle than it does on the nails. Every month is Oktoberfest comes off as a deep coppery red but it actually applies as a dark purple with red shimmer. This has an amazing formula and it’s absolutely stunning. People will want to know what’s on your nails when you wear this shade because it’s so eye-catching.

Butter London Wallis. This is a unique shade in my collection. There’s no other nail polish like it and I always receive compliments on it. It’s quite an unusual color, a deep metallic olive gold that almost looks like olive oil on the nails. This is one of my favorite nail lacquers of all time, it’s just gorgeous. The polish is named after Wallis Simpson which is fitting, there’s something about it that transports me back to 1930’s. This is the color I wear when working the fairs during Art Basel. It’s gorgeous and distinctive, a total show stopper.

OPI Here Today … Aragon Tomorrow. This polish was part of OPI La Coleccion De España, Spain Collection. It’s my all-time favorite collection from OPI. Every color is stunning. If you’re a nail polish junkie I’m sure you’re familiar with it, the collection goes way back. This shade is a rich dark green with shimmer. It’s both sophisticated and edgy. This color paired with a black jumpsuit will look ultra-chic and powerful.
