June Beauty Favorites | 2018

Short & Sweet

June Favorites | 2018Hi everybody, it’s time again for monthly favorites! I don’t have a lot of products to show you this month; I’ve been using the makeup from my Summer Edit, which are my favorites as well. The items I’m going to mention today are fairly new for the exception of one rediscovery.

Forgotten Favorite

OPI Nail Polish Do you lilac it?

OPI Do you lilac it?

I had completely forgotten about OPI Do you lilac it? (0.5 oz/$12.50). It’s a pretty lilac lavender with a creme finish that’s bright and fun, perfect for spring or summer. This OPI Infinite Shine version is extra glossy and lasts longer on the nails. It’s my favorite purple polish.

Bath and Body

I was contacted by Treets Traditions back in April. They asked if I would be interested in trying out some products. It was the first time I’ve heard of the brand so I was curious. They sent me their *Revitalising Ceremonies Hair & Body Wash (6.76 oz/$12.00). I appreciate the brand’s philosophy. Their products are all natural and free of parabens, silicones, and colorants.

Revitalising Ceremonies Hair & Body Wash

I haven’t used the product on my hair, therefore I can’t speak on its performance as a shampoo, but I love it as a shower gel. I find the scent to be unisex, it’s a fresh almost citrus fragrance. It’s the kind of scent that perks you up and envelopes the whole bathroom after each use. I recommend it.

Two from Armani

Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk Lip Pencil #12, Giorgio Armani Si Huile de Parfum

Giorgio Armani Si is one of my most loved perfumes; it works for me and my skin chemistry. I can wear in the morning and evening, and it’s not overpowering or cloying. Si is a very sweet fragrance while still being glamorous and distinctive. It contains notes I love such as vanilla, blackcurrant, and musk.

Giorgio Armani Si Huile de Parfum

I’ve been intrigued by the Si Huile de Parfum (1.0 oz/$40.00) for awhile and decided to purchase it. It’s meant to be a more intense version of the original fragrance. Personally, I think they smell the same. I use two to three drops on my wrist and neck. I love to run it through my hair as well. If you’re a fan of Armani’s Si, you will definitely like this oil.

Best lip liner ever

Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk Lip Pencil #12

My next favorite was a recommendation. I discovered Dena through Sandra on YouTube. Sandra features Dena in her yearly favorites videos. In case you’re not familiar, I highly recommend binge-watching all of Sandra’s yearly favorites, it’s like chatting with your girlfriends about makeup. I have the biggest girl crush on Dena, she’s absolutely gorgeous and has such great style. Check out her blog; you’ll see what I mean.

Dena and I were chatting about the Armani line, and she suggested I pick up the Smooth Silk Lip Pencil in #12 (0.04 oz/$30.00). I’m so happy I did, I LOVE IT!

Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk Lip Pencil #12

The best way to describe it is if Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk and MAC Soar had the perfect baby. It’s creamy and not drying; it also makes my lips look fuller. It’s the kind of shade that looks good with anything. You can top it with any lipstick or gloss and wear it with any eye look, and it just works. I’ve been wearing it for work every day just on its own, I know I’m going to use it up quickly. Thank you so much, Dena, for the recommendation!

2000 and late on this one

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

It took some time, but I finally purchased something from The Ordinary. It’s a brand I’ve been curious about for a while and never pulled the trigger. Finally, I was on the hunt for a new chemical peel and saw Nadine Baggott rave about the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (30 ml/$7.20). Yes, it does look a lot like pig’s blood ala Carrie White.

All cheesy jokes aside, it’s a fabulous product. I use a light layer on my face, neck and decolletage area. It tingles a bit, so be mindful if you’re not used to chemical peels. Prior to this, I used the Ole Henriksen Lemon Facial Peel. If you’ve used that and were able to tolerate it, I don’t think you’ll have issues with this product. That said, I recommend a patch test first. You should not use it all if you have sensitive or peeling skin.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

I use it once a week. According to the label you can go up to twice a week, but no more than that. I leave it on for the recommended 10 minutes, some people keep it on longer. A little goes a long way, and it works. I definitely see a difference in my skin. It looks brighter and feels smoother; it gets rid of any dry, flaky dead skin cells. I like to concentrate it on my nose to help remove blackheads. I highly recommend it; it’s an affordable product that delivers results.

Fashion fave

I picked up these Gold Circle Stud Hoops from & Other Stories in Madrid when I was there in May, and I haven’t stopped wearing them since. They’re very simple, yet modern and chic. & Other Stories has an awesome selection of jewelry; their pieces are affordable and timeless. They have other versions of this particular style and I want them all.

So what are your faves for this month? Any new makeup or skincare you’re loving?

I am not even gonna front, the color of The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution scares me every time I see it. But it doesn’t stop me from being intrigued by it. I haven’t tried anything from the line yet, but I am leaning towards doing so soon! As always, I love reading your beauty favorites and recommendations! I am adding Giorgio Armani Si and OPI “Do you lilac it?” to my list for sure. I brake for vanilla scented perfumes and lilac nail polish!

Great post, love! Thanks for sharing such great reviews!

Thank you for reading! It means so much to me. And you and me both, anything vanilla and lilac! Sold!
Yes, the color of The Ordinary peel can be off-putting. I would love to try their Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. I read really good reviews on it, maybe that’s what I’ll try next. I like that their budget friendly. I’ll keep you posted! Big hugs! Xo
