HYDRATE + GLOW Natural Skincare Mini Collection

Herbivore Botanicals HYDRATE + GLOW Natural Skincare Mini Collection

Today I have a review on the Herbivore Botanicals Hydrate + Glow Natural Skincare Mini Collection ($39.00). According to Herbivore this set values at $51.00, and it contains four deluxe samples which include the Brighten Pineapple + Gemstone Mask, Phoenix Facial Oil, Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Creme, and the Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist. These products are ideal for those of us who suffer from dryness, uneven skin tone, dullness, and uneven texture.

Why I bought it

I’ve heard wonderful things about Herbivore, and felt this was a great way to try a few items from their line without breaking the bank. I purchased this set during the Sephora VIB sale a few months ago. The Phoenix Facial Oil was the item I was most excited about, it has glowing reviews and I heard it does wonders for dry skin. Also, I’ve tried the Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist in the past, more on that later.

Brighten Pineapple + Gemstone Mask

Herbivore Brighten Pineapple + Gemstone Mask

I was so curious about this mask, it contains Rice Powder, Pineapple and Papaya Enzymes, and Brazilian White Tourmaline Gemstone. The one ingredient that stood out was Tourmaline; it’s found in many skincare products and proven quite beneficial. It promotes a radiant, youthful appearance and helps vitalize the skin.

I put a thin layer on my skin and waited 10 minutes as instructed. I didn’t get that tingly sensation you sometimes get with AHAs. In my opinion, this one is pretty mild compared to others I’ve tried. My skin felt a little tight, but it didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. After ten minutes the mask hardened and began flaking around my nose, I washed it off and immediately my skin felt energized and looked brighter. I’m impressed, it’s a nice gentle exfoliant and feels really refreshing.

Phoenix Facial Oil

Herbivore Phoenix Facial Oil

The Phoenix Oil definitely lived up to the hype. It’s a luxurious facial oil, if you like to pamper yourself, and you’re a fan of face oils this is for you. It contains quality ingredients like Rose Hip Oil; it’s rich in Omega Fatty Acids 3, 6, and 9. Sea Buckthorn Oil which helps protect and soothe the skin. It also contains Neroli Oil which is a great antiseptic, it’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Other ingredients are Chia Seed Co2 and Meadowfoam Oil.

I apply before moisturizer. They recommend 4 to 10 drops; personally, I think that’s too much. I take 2 to 3 drops and press it into my skin. It makes my skin feel nourished and hydrated. What I love the most is that it’s rich and locks in moisture without leaving my skin looking or feeling greasy. I don’t feel I need to apply moisturizer after using this oil and that’s saying a lot for me. I have very dry skin, and need a lot of hydration, and the Phoenix Oil provides that for me.

Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Creme

Herbivore Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Creme

I was skeptical about the Pink Cloud. My initial thought was “this isn’t going to work for me.” I need a thick, rich cream and this wasn’t going to cut the mustard. Boy, I was wrong. This moisturizer is full of beneficial ingredients like Rose Water, Aloe Water, White Tea Extract and Kukui Oil which is highly nourishing if you have dry skin. It’s not heavy at all. When I put it on, yes, it feels ultra light and airy like a cloud as the name suggests, but it gives my skin the perfect amount of hydration.

Herbivore Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Creme

I immediately noticed my skin felt softer and supple. My skin just drinks it right up; I put it on in the morning and hours later my skin still feels smooth and supple. I’m very impressed and I’m extremely picky when it comes to moisturizers and don’t switch often. You’ve heard me talk about the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense time after time, but I definitely want Pink Cloud in the full size!

Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist

Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist

I’ve talked about the Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist before. It was a small sample and I liked it, unfortunately not to the point where I would purchase the full size. I still feel the same way. Yes, it contains good ingredients like Rose Water, Coconut Water, and Hibiscus Flower Extract, and it refreshes and hydrates my skin, but it does nothing for the longevity of my makeup. There are plenty of face mists in the market that can provide all three at a cheaper price point. I will finish this bottle and enjoy it, but I won’t be purchasing a full size.

Final Verdict

Review | Herbivore Botanicals

Overall, I’m happy with this set; I’ve been enjoying the products tremendously. For me, the Phoenix Oil and Pink Cloud were the standouts. Although this set is geared toward those of us with dry skin, I think these products are suitable for everyone no matter what age or skin type you are. We’re all different of course and have different needs, so be sure to try out samples first if you can. I will say these products are super gentle, perfect for travel and it would make a lovely gift too. I recommend the set!
