Top 5 | Beauty Products of 2019

Happy 2020 everybody! I hope you had a wonderful holiday, and may this new decade bring you all that your heart desires. This year I decided to switch up my yearly favorites and do a Top 5 Beauty Products instead. Choosing only five was difficult, but I’m happy with my selection. Looking back this year, I was very mindful of my purchases. I was on a low-buy/no-buy for most of the year, and have no regrets. My goal in 2019 was to seek out quality products and use what I have.

In case you’re wondering, I still love last year’s picks and use them consistently. However, these five items stood out the most. Don’t worry, I have a few honorable mentions as well.

YSL Touche Éclat All-In-One Glow Tinted Moisturizer

Touche Éclat All-In-One Glow Tinted Moisturizer

The YSL Touche Éclat All-In-One Glow Tinted Moisturizer has been my go-to foundation for the majority of the year. Summer in Miami is a nightmare. I put this on in the morning, and it will not budge even in the heat. The YSL All-In-One Glow has exceptional lasting power, a beautiful dewy finish, and I love the travel-friendly packaging. I can’t say enough positive things about this foundation.

Honorable mention goes to the Guerlain L’Essentiel Foundation. I discovered it late in the year; it’s a fabulous foundation for those of us with dry skin. Also, love the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.

Weleda Skin Food

Weleda Skin Food

The Weleda Skin Food is the star product of 2019 for me. It’s the most versatile skincare product in my arsenal. I use it pretty much everywhere, mainly on my face as a moisturizer. Yes, it’s an extremely rich cream, but it works like a dream on my dry skin. It smooths over any dry patches and works beautifully under makeup. It’s a fabulous hand cream too. I will not be without Skin Food; I even have a mini one for travel. Did I mention it’s affordable? 12 bucks! You can’t beat that.

Honorable mention to the May Lindstrom The Honey Mud. I’m hesitant to talk about it because it is on hiatus right now, but it will be back. I was one of the lucky ones that got a good batch. I still use it and love it, and I’m almost out and can’t wait for her to bring it back because I will repurchase.

Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil

Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil

Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil is one of the standout skincare items I discovered in 2019. I love the story behind this product. The company was founded by three sisters in California. They come from a family of farmers, and through their travel through Asia, they discovered all the health and beauty benefits of plum. If you want to know more, please visit their website because it’s such an engaging story. They didn’t have to convince me much because I’m a firm believer in the Power of Plum.

Plum Oil has a multitude of skincare benefits, and this oil is glorious. It’s rich in Vitamin A & E, it’s a natural UV sunscreen booster to protect the skin, it’s full of essential antioxidants, and omega fatty acids 6 & 9. I love the texture; it feels light and absorbs quickly, and works beautifully under makeup. My skin glows every time I put it on, and foundation is optional. That’s how good it makes my skin look.

Nudestix Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze in Sunset Strip

Nudestix Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze in Sunset Strip

The Nudestix Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze in Sunset Strip was my travel buddy in 2019. It’s such an easy product to use; it blends beautifully. I consistently use it on my cheeks and lips. It was on my skin every day this summer; I couldn’t get enough of it. These have a fabulous formula with a great color payoff. Easily the best makeup product I discovered this year. I feel everyone needs one in their makeup bag. And Sunset Strip is a gorgeous color.

I have to give some love to Lisa Eldridge’s Lipstick in Go Lightly. Her lipsticks were one of the most exciting makeup launches this year. Go Lightly is the ultimate coral lipstick. The color is vibrant, and the formula is outstanding. Lisa’s done a remarkable job. It’s flattering on the lips; the color is fresh and youthful. I believe it’s sold out now, but I hope she brings it back for the spring.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

Clarins Lip Comfort Oils are a must-have for me. I consistently use them throughout the year. It has skincare benefits for your lips, and they make them look stunning. You get the most plump, juiciest lips, and most importantly, they’re super comfortable. They don’t feel sticky or heavy, simply luxurious. I pretty much have the entire line, and one is always in my bag. This year I hit Kooples Dark Stone hard as well as the Red Berry Glam, which both need to be made permanent. It’s the product that has given me the most bang for my buck in 2019.

My last honorable mention goes to the Marc Jacobs Scandalust eyeshadow palette. It was my go-to palette for 2019. I’m embarrassed about how much I talked about it on my blog, but it’s the truth. It’s the palette I’ve reached for the most. You can do work-appropriate looks and evening looks; it’s so versatile. If you’re into warm shades and a killer formula, look no further.

Please tell me what your favorite beauty products were this year? I want to know what made your heart sing!
