Hey Coco

Top 5 | Chanel Beauty

Today I’m excited to go over my favorite Chanel beauty products. Along with MAC, I’ve been using Chanel for as long as I can remember. I still remember my mom buying me my very first Glossimer, now Rouge Coco Gloss. I used that lip gloss to death. Mind you, it was 90’s. It was so difficult selecting five items; I could have easily picked more. There are some honorable mentions at the end.

Le Blanc De Chanel

Chanel Foundations have never stood out to me. I look back to when Vitalumiere Aqua was all the craze; personally, I didn’t enjoy it. Their one base product I can’t be without is Le Blanc De Chanel Multi-Use Illuminating Base (1 oz/$48.00). It has witch hazel and licorice extract, so it feels like skincare. And it makes every foundation and tinted moisturizer I own better. It primes my skin and evens my complexion. I can see why people would assume it’s a highlighter because you’re left with the most bright luminous finish. It’s such a unique product. And I hear the new bottle has a pump, which is awesome.

Joues Contraste Powder Blush

One of my Top 5 Chanel Beauty product is the Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush 02 Rose Bronze (0.21 oz/$45.00). It’s a gorgeous, universal shade that goes with any makeup look under the sun. I use it all throughout summer and fall. It gives tremendous color pay off. The texture feels like silk, and it stays put all day. Works beautifully as an eye shadow as well.

Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow

One of my favorite eyeshadows of all time is the Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow 36 Desert Rouge (0.08oz/$32.00). I’ve talked about it a million times, and I cannot be without it. The pigmentation is insane with these shadows. The texture is phenomenal, blends like a dream, and it’s ultra long-wearing. Desert Rouge is a stunning shade of red that looks beautiful on any skin tone. I can’t compare it to anything else. See it in action here. If you buy one item from my Top 5, make it this. Thank me later.

Rouge Coco Gloss

The hardest part of narrowing down my Top 5 Chanel Beauty products had to be the lippies. Chanel makes outstanding lipsticks and lip glosses, but I had to go with the Rouge Coco Gloss #804 Rose Naif (0.19 oz/$30.00). In terms of the formula, it’s ultra-light and not sticky. It makes my lips look fuller without that annoying burning sensation most lip plumpers leave behind. I have a few of these lip glosses in my collection, but #804 Rose Naif is my favorite. It’s a soft rosy pink you think wouldn’t have much payoff, but it does. I’m obsessed with this gloss.

Le Vernis

Finally, Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in 534 Espadrilles (0.4 oz/$28.00) I know what you’re thinking, why a nail polish? True, you can get a shade like this anywhere. There’s just something iconic about Chanel nail polishes. I have several shades, and I still remember the way I felt when I first put on Vamp as a teenager. I mean it has it’s own Wikipedia page for God’s sake. Chanel varnishes are truly special, and 534 Espadrilles is a vibrant orangy red that’s on my toes 80% of the time because it’s the ultimate sandal nail polish.

Honorable mention

CHANEL Rouge Double Intensite Duo Lip Colour Gloss # 109 Orange Blood

HANEL Rouge Double Intensite Duo Lip Colour Gloss # 109 Orange Blood

I’m technically cheating, but there are two lippies I must include, first, the Rouge Double Intensite Duo Lip Colour Gloss in #109 Orange Blood. These were reformulated and are now called Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue. It’s such a cool product. You apply the color first then top it with the clear gloss, which seal the color in place and it will not budge. At first, I thought it would be drying like a liquid lipstick. It’s not at all. You get long-lasting color that won’t dry out your lips.

Rouge Allure Gloss in 13 Affriolant (0.2 oz/$38.00)

And the Rouge Allure Gloss in 13 Affriolant (0.2 oz/$38.00). I don’t think these get talked about much. They come in a cool one-click tube that I find so satisfying. Chanel describes it as a “lipstick for women who love gloss.” I couldn’t agree more; you get an intense opaque color plus high shine. If you couldn’t get your hands on Lisa Eldridge’s Go Lightly, you may want to try this. Affriolant is a classic Audrey pinky coral shade.

It is, I love it! I rediscovered it while shopping my stash. Sometimes it’s good to be on a no-buy. 😉
