September Gurls

September Beauty Favorites | 2018

Today I have another monthly favorite post for you! September was a hectic month; I curated a group exhibition that I’m very proud of, and it has taken a lot of my time. I’m excited to focus on my blog and curate my Fall Beauty Edit which will be up next. I’m looking forward to October and Halloween too. This month I have a mixed bag of makeup, skincare and my new favorite fall candle!

Skin and Hair

Brocato Peppermint Scrub Purifying Shampoo

First, the Brocato Peppermint Scrub Purifying Shampoo (10 oz/$14.50). I’ve talked about this shampoo a million times on the blog. It’s one of my holy grail hair care products; I won’t be without it. This product is a lifesaver, especially in the hot summer months. It removes any scalp buildup leaving my hair lighter and fresher. I recommend it if you use a lot of styling products on your hair. It also smells like peppermint candy.

Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream

Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream

My standout skincare product for September and the entire summer is the Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream (2.5 oz/$19.00). I can see why this is a favorite among many makeup artists and why they love to have it in their kits. I use Skin Food everywhere; my hands, elbows, feet, legs and yes even on my face. I’ve heard it could cause breakouts; I haven’t experienced that, and I’ve been using it for several months.

It’s quite a thick and emollient cream; you only need a small amount. I like to mix it in with my moisturizer when my skin is looking extra dull. It smooths over any flaky skin, and dry patches, It’s my skin savior.

Makeup

Diorshow On Stage Liquid Eyeliner in 876 Matte Rusty, Tom Ford Pussycat, Laura Geller Filter First Luminous Concealer

I have to thank my good friend and fellow makeup junkie Chanelle for my next favorite. She gave me the Diorshow On Stage Liquid Eyeliner in 876 Matte Rusty (.01 oz/$30.50), and I can’t stop using it. It has rekindled my love for liquid eyeliner. For about a year I was only using pencils; I feel they’re much more forgiving and foolproof.

However, this is an excellent liquid liner; it’s so easy to use, and the tip is ultra fine, so I’m able to get a precise line. It stays put all day long with no smudging. I’m crazy about the color; Rusty is richly pigmented burgundy wine shade. It’s so beautiful, and it will certainly make an appearance in my Fall Edit!

Forgotten Favorite

Tom Ford Matte Lip Color Pussycat

Early this month I went through my lipstick stash and found Tom Ford Matte Lip Color in Pussycat (0.1 oz/$55.00). It’s been about two years since I last used it. I always feel bad when I ignore my Tom Ford lipsticks because they’re crazy expensive, and they go bad quickly. Luckily, this one didn’t go bad. Pussycat is a stunning pinky plum shade, perfect for fall or any time of the year really. It’s my current go-to lip for work.

And finally, my concealer of choice this month was the Laura Geller Filter First Luminous Concealer (0.5 oz/ $24.00). It’s the only one I’ve been wearing, and I have a full review of it as well as the foundation here. I won’t go on too much about it, but it feels ultra-lightweight and looks like skin. It brightens under the eye area so nicely. And I love that I can throw in my bag for touch-ups. It’s much easier to use than a concealer in a pot.

And finally, the Nest Moroccan Amber Candle (8.1 oz/$40.00). This was a birthday gift from my dear friend Ruth; she knows how much I love Nest Candles. Their candles are such great quality; the scent will fill the entire room. Moroccan Amber is a warm and rich scent ideal for the fall and winter months. I’m an amber addict; I love this note in fragrances. If you’re a fan of amber as well, you will adore this candle.

It’s such a pretty shade of pink. I love Tom Ford lipsticks, I just wish they didn’t go bad so quickly. Xx
